"The legend of Lucifer has no biblical basis. The ancient Hebrews knew of no devil whatever. Satan in the Old Testament is no devil in the accepted meaning of the word. He was originally not an adversary but an adjutant of the Almighty. Satan was a member of the celestial court of Jehovah. He belonged to the assembly of the sons of God, but sat on the opposition bench. He was a sort of prosecutng attorney attached to the judgement seat of the Eternal."
